NBT Chinese New Year Decoration – Part 1

without comments

After taking a short nap, i went for dinner at Gadong FoodZone around 10pm. I ordered fried kolomee with chicken, dim sum and drinks. Then when i pass by the NBT Toyota & Lexus showroom, i saw people starting fixing up the lantern decoration for the coming Chinese New Year Festival. There should be more add-on Model Building where the BIG STAR is placed.

Year to Year NBT have put up different decoration such as Hari Raya, Chirstmas and Chinese New Year to make the festival more joyful. People gather around the Model Building taking pictures and so on.

Will update further on this when most of the decoration is almost ready

Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque

with 2 comments

Recently Zul and me went for a night outing at Bandar Seri Begawan to shoot at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. The night view of the mosque is fantastic with the reflection of the water.

Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque is a royal Islamic mosque located in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of the Sultanate of Brunei. The mosque is classified as one of the most spectacular mosques in the Asia Pacific and a major tourist attraction. Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque is considered amongst the people of Brunei as the country’s major landmark. (Source from Wikipedia)

With its soaring minarets and golden dome, the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is an oasis of tranquility within the bustle of downtown Bandar. Completed in 1958, it is built of Italian marble, gold mosaic and English stained glass, but with craftsmanship that reflects classical Islamic architecture.

Located in a lagoon beside the mosque is a replica of a 16th Century mahligai barge, which was used to stage colourful religious ceremonies such as the Koran reading competitions during the 1960s and early 1970s. You will be required to remove your shoes prior to entering the mosque, and you should also be dressed conservatively.

Hidden Treasure – Wasai Wong Kadir

without comments

Wasai Wong Kadir is a 45 minute walk from the Labi Road. Wasai Wong Kadir is an ideal place for those who enjoy jungle trekking up and down steep ridges. The Wasai, or waterfall, is a popular picnic spot. The walk crosses several steep ridges en route to the fall, but once there, you can enjoy the unspoilt beauty of the jungle and the cool, pure water of the river.
